Hello! And, thanks for checking us out. 
A little about me...
How did I get here, in this beautiful space with passionate, knowledgeable teachers and dedicated clients?
​Well...
First off, after 27 years of teaching (and that's just the Pilates aspect) I LOVE what I do-still. 
I am a movement lover and am totally fascinated by what we humans can do and by what we can achieve.  And, I opened this movement center because I fully believe that when we move well, we feel well and when we feel well we can focus on all of the things we want to do.   
My training (part of it)...
I received my Stott Pilates (a contemporary approach to the original teachings of Joseph Pilates) certification in 2001 and AntiGravity Aerial Fitness certification in 2016.  Prior to forging STHIEL PILATES and Movement Center in 2005, I danced, taught and choreographed professionally with Labco Dance Company, Dance Alloy Theater and Attack Theatre of Pittsburgh to name a few and I still work as a freelance choreographer. 
 I hold a BA in Psychology with a minor in biology from Youngstown State University.

If you've had struggles, I can empathize with you because...
In 2008, after enduring back pain for years from life as a gymnast, professional dancer,  three auto accidents and the stressors of single parenthood,  another injury sidelined my career as a performing artist.  I got down.  

And then, I got back up and...
I dove into deeper study of movement as it relates to efficiency and movement without pain on my path to recovery. 

Now...
 due to a blend of Pilates, AntiGravity Aerial Fitness, Yoga, Fascial Fitness and of course, Dancing, I  have been able to forgo two back surgeries, reduce my pain and in 2016 was able to perform for the first time since 2009.  And, you know what else?
I'M HAPPIER!

My teaching approach...  
I believe in holistic teaching and in cross-training movement that enhances balance, muscle confusion, proper alignment, strength, agility, flexibility and pain reduction which advocates an increased overall state of wellbeing and...

I 
began practicing Yoga in my teens, initially attracted to the unique and challenging postures. As a gymnast and cheerleader, I fell in love with the physical benefits of Yoga-stretching, lengthening, and building strength. When I left home for Pittsburgh and nursing school at Pitt, my passion for Yoga grew. The spiritual and emotional aspects of Yoga helped me with the stressors of college and being away from my family. Yoga helped me learn mindfulness, gratitude, self-discipline, self-love, and creative movement. The tools I learned on my mat soon translated to daily life, helping me approach life with peace and freedom. I knew I had to share my passion and help others experience the "zen" I found in body, mind & spirit.
​I completed my 200-hour Yoga teacher training with Yoga Flow in Pittsburgh in 2018.
​I am grateful for the opportunity and excited to share my passion for Yoga and Aerial Yoga at STHIEL PILATES & MOVEment Center. In class, you can expect fluidity in movement, lots of creativity, energetic flows and of course, lots of fun!

Betty Delavar-Instructor 
Pilates 

I have always been a mover - running, recreational sports, yoga and weightlifting are just some of the areas that I dedicated myself to in the past. My fascination with how one trains muscles to allow performance of all types of movement has resonated with me throughout my life.
When I was 18, I had elbow pain that was misdiagnosed by a physician. I was given medication to treat the pain, but it never really fixed the problem. Shortly after this setback, I took charge of my own health and discovered Mat Pilates. The slow and guided movements that I performed in these Pilates sessions decreased the pain and aches that I felt in my elbow, something that the medications failed in doing. This moment helped me realize that the power of proper movement can truly improve the outlook of one’s health.
I am a former registered dietician, a graduate of the masters of physiology program at North Carolina State University, a current physical therapy student at the University of Pittsburgh and a Certified Balanced Body® Comprehensive Pilates Instructor. I previously worked at Moxie and Remedy Movement in Raleigh, NC.
My inspiration is to share the gift of movement and help people realize that movement can increase their overall well-being.
​We come into this life in one body and leave in the same; how wonderful it would be if we could nourish it, cherish it and help it move to its greatest potential!

Becky Gilmore-Instructor

I am back in the 'Burgh after living in South Carolina for three years and adding more to my teaching repertoire at STHIEL.  I completed my RYT200 training in 2015 at Yoga on the Square in Pittsburgh and my Aerial Yoga teacher training in 2017 in Chicago.  My trainings were focused on powerful, slow flow with attention to alignment, somatics and anatomy.  I've moved and taught in multiple states while obtaining my master’s degree in occupational therapy.  
As an OT, I work in rehab, treating patients with orthopedic, neurological and medical diagnoses. The goal of OT is holistic, for patients to regain independence, living life to the fullest. I love exploring holistic health through these two fields, with all the variations and similarities (although with different language) on how we find holistic wellness through movement and the mind-body connection.

Lauri Lang 
Holistic Nutritionist, Registered Dietitian

I am a registered and licensed dietician nutritionist with a holistic philosophy and personalized custom focus.  I have completed 200 hour Yoga teacher training at Kripalu, am a Journey Dance facilitator and an attuned Reiki practitioner.  Completion of testing after LEAP training (Lifestyle Eating and Performance Training) to become a CLT (Certified Leap Therapist) is in process.
Through my personal and professional evolution and mind-body-spirit wellness journey fired in the crucible of work, life and service, some clear and unified themes emerge:  These form the heart of my multi-mode Concierge Wellness practice.  I am  an Agent of Change with contagious enthusiasm and the desire to inspire and assist clients in developing new practices and rituals to elevate and customize self-care, mindfulness, serenity and balance in daily life.  Some areas of specialty include nutrition and lifestyle strategies to quell inflammation, enhance women's and men's health, autoimmune condition recommendations, cancer prevention and support of treatment and survivorship, anti-aging/increase vitality strategies and the improvement of mental health and cognition.  I facilitate Y12SR via Zoom (Yoga of 12 Step Recovery). Alyssa Lukach-Instructor
AntiGravity Aerial Fitness, Aerial Yoga, AirBarre, Pilates, Yoga

I am a certified Ashtanga Yoga Instructor having studied for five years under the tutelage of Master Yoga Teacher, Abbey Alter of Walnut Lodge Yoga in Sharon, Pennsylvania. I received my certification in AntiGravity Aerial Fitness in 2019. A senior at Duquesne University, I've also been practicing Iyengar Yoga and have been trained in classical ballet and competition dance since the age of 4.
Yoga is my means to continue to share movement with others. A strong passion for helping and healing people guides me as I develop a career path in the wellness industry.  I am currently engaged in my Pilates certification and required teaching hours.

Sophie Randall-Instructor

I'm originally from State College, PA and learned about Pilates through my love of movement. I began taking Mat Pilates classes while studying at Penn State University. I graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Health Policy and Administration. I enjoy working with clients to help them reach their goals. I am a certified Pilates Instructor through Power Pilates.

“Pilates has helped me gain confidence and clarity. I want to encourage you to trust and have faith in yourself through the mind body connection. Pilates will help you build strength and flexibility. The breathing practice will help with mindfulness. It allows you to focus on what is important to you in the moment. I hope to help others reach their goals and take everything one step at a time while enjoying the process!”  I currently live in NYC and am available for Virtual Pilates classes Privately, for Duets or Groups.

Will Brani-Instructor
Aerial Yoga, Yoga

In 2012, I wanted to try yoga to help relieve stress which triggered my psoriasis.  After getting experienced in several yoga and Pilates classes at the University of Arkansas, I attended trainings through YOGAFIT, Transcend Aerial Yoga, BYS Yoga and I began to teach. 
I especially love the versatility of aerial yoga and its promotion of modified traditional poses.
I love seeing student's initial fears from hanging upside down in the aerial hammock switch to childlike joy from trusting themselves and letting go of their fears.
Because of my diagnosis, I feel I've gained insight on what clients experience with similar conditions and I like that some relief can be found on the mat or in the hammock.
